Absa appointed allen international to develop a conceptual test-lab branch at Clearwater Mall, just outside Johannesburg. Absa will use this branch to develop innovative products and processes prior to rolling these out across its entire branch network. The bank is located at the ground floor of a building of the 60s which is placed in the historic centre of the town, near the Synagogue. There was a time when this place lodged a little “alternative” theater, with a real stage and some backstage rooms still remaining in traces. The pre-existent has been the inspiration for the project of this new bank branch.
